Academic Enrichment Program
The Academic Enrichment Program is designed to work intensively with juniors and senions who have not passed all sections of the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). Overall the program can include tutors in Math, Science, English and Social Studies.
In addition, guidance is provided on registering for college and standardized test, achieving acceptable SAT/ACT scores, providing increased awareness of college preparation for enrollment and enrolling in post-secondary educational programs.
In our 2012 pilot program, 75% of the students enrolled passed their OGT and received their high school diploma.
Individuals interested in the program should contact our office at 330-580-9347 for additional information.
Youth Employment Services
Each summer, SCCAA provides work opportunities for high school youth through its Youth Employment Servics (YES).
Eligible youth must meet SCCAA academic and income guidelines. Students are provided with an opportunity to work at neighborhood job sites with community organizations and agency programs. During the summer, youth are taught employability skills and encouraged toward post-secondary education.
In addition to career planning and work experience, students interact with one another and professional youth coaches who assist them in addressing issues related to peer relationships, family, motivation and values.
