Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and based recommendations from Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health, we have made some adjustments to our day to day operations. Until further notice, public access to the SCCAA lobby at the Webster Square building located, 1366 Market Avenue N. is limited to 8 individuals in the reception lobby area at a time.

We will continue to monitor this health crisis and, in the meantime, we will to work to provide vital assistance to our clients. First and foremost, we want to ensure safety and that we are taking recommended precautions wherever possible.

Thank you for your additional patience during this time.

May is Community Action Month!

May is Community Action Month!Community Action Month is here! Please join the Stark County Community Action Agency in celebrating the impact of the nation’s Community Action network — including 1,000+ Community Action Agencies — a robust, national, state, and local force, reaching children and families in 99% of America’s counties with life changing services that create pathways to opportunity and prosperity. In 2021, the Community Action Network marks its 57th year of helping American families and communities navigate and overcome obstacles of poverty. This year, the SCCAA a proud member of the Community Action Network, will commemorate 40 years of helping families and individuals throughout Stark County, Ohio.

The SCCAA represents one of the 48 Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies around the state serving the needs of low-income people in all of Ohio's 88 counties, connecting individuals and families to approaches that help them succeed — including high quality education programs for children, job retraining for adults, housing and utility assistance, home weatherization and so much more.

The need for Community Action has never been greater. Neither has our resolve. We’re challenged to create solutions that don’t just help people stay afloat but build lives of stability, dignity, and, whenever possible, prosperity. And we will rise to that challenge.

SCCAA born out of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, is a member of the National Community Action Partnership, Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies and the Community Action Network.
