Workforce Development 

Free career training, coaching, and job placement for Stark County residents.  

The SCCAA Workforce Development Program provides free career training, coaching, and employment support to income-eligible Stark County residents. Through short-term training in high-demand fields and hands-on, one-on-one support, the program helps participants earn industry-recognized credentials, secure employment, and build long-term economic self-sufficiency.

 

         Transportation (CDL-A)                   Healthcare   (CNA/Phlebotmy)                      Job Readiness 

 

Services Offered

  • Career Training - Cohort-based training in high-demand fields such as tranportation (CDL-A), healthcare (CNA/STNA, phlebotomy technician), and more. Training tracks are added as workforce needs grow, contact us for current offerings.  
  • Job Readiness - Monthly career skills classes covering resume writing, interview preparation, and computer basics.
  • Budgeting & Wage Planning - Help creating a monthly household budget and identifying the wages needed to support it, so career goals are grounded in real numbers.
  • Career Coaching & Job Placement - One-on-one support from application through employment, including connections to local employers and follow-up after placement. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Stark County resident, age 18 or older
  • Household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (See chart Below)
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

 For households larger than 8, add 8% of the 4-person limit to the 8-person limit for each additional person.

 

 

 

Required Documentation

Submit copies of the following with a completed application: 

  • Non-expired government-issued photo ID for all adults 18+
  • Social Security cards and birth certificates for all household members
  • Income verification for the past 30 days for all adults 18+ (5 weeks of paystubs, current Social Security award letter, workers' compensation, unemployment, child support, or written SNAP/TANF verification from ODJFS)

*SCCAA reserves the right to verify the authenticity of all supporting documentation.
